We were proud to serve as production managers for Body, Home, World, an impactful documentary project led by New York–based filmmaker Aashish Kumar, supported by the Fulbright-Nehru Fellowship and Hofstra University. The project began its India leg of filming in early 2023.
Body, Home, World is a deeply personal and socially relevant web documentary series that brings to light stories of South Asian LGBTQ+ individuals and their families. More than just narratives of identity, the series emphasizes the relational nature of queer journeys, featuring voices of allies, parents, friends, and communities who support and stand by them.
Our responsibilities included on-ground production logistics, coordination across multiple Assam locations, crew management, and facilitating sensitive and respectful storytelling environments. The project has since been recognized by the Society for Visual Anthropology Film and Media Festival and has found a digital home at BodyHomeWorld.com, a powerful platform for promoting empathy, visibility, and understanding within the South Asian LGBTQ+ context.
